Abstract
Magnetic susceptibility measurements on alloys of manganese in liquid tin show the manganese ions to posses localized magnetic moments of effective magneton number 4.33 ± 0.03. The alloys also exhibit a residual paramagnetism, equivalent to 365 μ e.m.u./mole of Mn at infinite temperature.
