Abstract

A locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type-I string cosmologicalmodel with bulk viscosity is investigated. To obtain a determinatesolution, it is assumed that the coefficient of bulk viscosity is apower function of the energy density ζ = ζ0ρmand the scalar of expansion is proportional to the shear scalar θ∝σ, which leads to a relation between metric potentialsR = ASn, where R and S are only the functions of time. Thephysical and geometrical aspects of the model are also discussed. Thesolution includes some results previously given in the literature asspecial cases.
