Abstract

Spatially inhomogeneous states were induced on the surface of single-crystal lanthanum-strontium manganites by the local application of an external electric field. The dynamics of the growth and relaxation of these states were studied by atomic force microscopy. It is shown that the induced states possess a charge and reveal piezoelectric properties.
