Abstract

(60.4%) patients received 5-fluorouracil-based adjuvant chemotherapy (30 (46.9%)≥ 75 years old versus 34 (53.1%) b 75 years old). Older patients had similar clinico-pathological characteristics as younger patients. The median follow-up duration was 14.9 months. The 3-year disease-free survival (26.4%≥ 75 years old versus 40% b 75 years old, P = 0.006) was different. Elderly patient received a lower relative dose intensity of Oxaliplatin and 5-fluorouracil (57.7 versus 64.4 (P = 0.418)). Conclusion: Adjuvant fluorouracil-based chemotherapy result in different efficacy without in older patient age ≥ 75 years when compared with best younger patients with curatively resected stage II,III colon cancer. Therefore, for colon cancer patients aged ≥75 years can be recommended to receive a lower relative dose intensity of 5-fluorouracil after curative surgery in Korea.
