Abstract

Field tests to determine the localizing effect of man on the mosquito, Mansonia perturbans (Walker), were made by use of a human subject beneath a drop net and in a parked car along a swamp margin during the early evening activity period. Records from seven tests in June 1958 showed that sizable groups of mosquitoes were localized in resting position when man was present. Male swarms were also deactivated beneath the drop net and in the parked car with the host.
