Abstract
The long wavelength vibrations localized and pseudolocalized near a planar defect in a crystal are described in the framework of the elasticity theory. The full set of boundary conditions on the planar defect is given and the dispersion relations of the eigensolutions of the boundary problem under consideration are obtained. It is shown that there is a continuum frequency spectrum of pseudolocalized waves. The density of states of this spectrum is analyzed.
