Abstract

ET-1 is involved in many processes of heart function. Effects of ET-1 are mediated through specific G-protein-coupled receptor subtypes ETA and ETB. In sera of patients with cardiovascular diseases autoantibodies (AAB) against subtype ETA-R were demonstrated. They exert a negative chronotropic effect in cultured rat cardiomyocytes antagonized by the ETA-R antagonist BQ 610. We examined cellular localization of ETA-R in HEK-AmB2 cells transfected with ETA-R, human coronary smooth muscle cell culture and cell culture of 3-day-old heart myocytes isolated from neonatal Wistar rats.
