Abstract

Objective To further study expression and characterization of clusterin on human spermatozoa. Methods Sperm membrane protein was extracted by 1% TritonX-1O0 and separated by chloroform/methanol. The expression of clusterin was detected by Western blotting. Localization of clusterin on human spermatozoa was studied by immunofluorescence. Results Clusterin was located on the head of human spermatozoa. Conclusion Clusterin is abundant protein on human sperm membrane and responsible for sperm maturation, which is important for sperm signaling transduction and fertility. Key words: Clusterin; Spermatozoa; Immunofluroscence
