Abstract
Localised flux distribution and iron losses were determined in the core of a three-phase induction machine using small search coils and thermistors. Within the tooth tip regions, flux was found to be distorted and rotational. Localised iron losses in the tooth tips were much higher than in the centre of the tooth locations investigated previously.
