Abstract
We study two incentive compatibility notions of ordinal mechanisms: strategy-proofness and a new notion of local strategy-proofness, called block-adjacent strategy-proofness, which requires no gain by a flip of two adjacent blocks. A condition on the preference domain called path-nestedness is identified as sufficient for the equivalence between these two notions.
