Abstract
We have observed significant temporal variations in the local time dependence of geomagnetic induction vectors calculated at two‐hour intervals for twelve days at four latitudinally‐spaced stations near L = 4. The present results and discussion call into some question the assumptions commonly made in the straightforward derivation and use of such induction vectors for defining internal conductivity structures.
