Abstract
The local spin order in the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model is studied for the conduction-electron band filling $n=\frac{1}{3}$ in a special parameter case. The charge and spin gaps are calculated. We obtain two phases. One is the local spin island phase with spin and charge gap in the conduction band. In another phase, the local spins order antiferromagnetically and there is spin gap. Between these two phases, there is a first order transition.
