Abstract

• Heat transfer is enhanced compared with Newtonian fluids for low Reynolds number conditions. • Single and pair of vortices develop with streamwise direction and increase of Weissenberg number. • Swinging motions of the main flow in the channel cross section affect the vortex structure. • Top-bottom and sidewall heat transfer significantly changes by the main flow and vortex structures. • Vortex type, heat transfer at walls, and Weissenberg number are highly correlated.
