Abstract

Pressure efficiency is investigated as a function of load cycling for a pyrophyllite pressure medium in a cubic press. Pressure efficiency is determined by the cycle dependent applied load at the I→II and the I→III phase transitions in Bi and Tl standards, respectively. For up to five cycles, the pressure efficiency increases significantly with each cycle.
