Abstract

Expressions for the load capacity and time relation for squeeze films of power-law lubricants in conical bearings are derived. The effect of the flow behaviour index on the load capacity is investigated and it is shown that the load capacity varies as that power of the squeeze velocity, which is same as the flow behaviour index of the fluid.
