Abstract

The Russian proverbs and sayings (paremiaes) are examined in this article, the lexicographic sources of proverbs and sayings are named, the names of paremiologists are mentioned. As an object of research proverbs and sayings, extracted by the method of continuous selection from are chosen artistic of L.N. Tolstoy’s works. Attitude of writer is marked toward a folk language. Special attention is paid to linguistic descriptions of the following characters: Matrena, Mitrich, Nikita from drama «Power of darkness», Platon Karataeff from a novel «War and piece». Paremiologictic fund of artistic works of L.N. Tolstoy’s Reflects anthropocentric model of the world. The thematic preferences of writer are examined at the selection of proverbs and sayings. The context use over of paremiaes is brought, references are given on artistic works. Proverbs and sayings, reflecting some Russian national character traits, are separately analysed.
