Abstract
Recently, learning to communicate in a foreign language has become important. Knowledge of a foreign language means to be skillful in all speech activities - reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The development of these skills is conducted in an interconnected, complex manner. Over the past few years, teachers have been paying great attention to teaching listening, since it is with listening that mastery of oral speech begins, and precise understanding of a foreign language is the basis of foreign language proficiency. Listening skills help a person to understand the speaker, extract the necessary information, and adequately respond to the interlocutor's speech, that is, speak a foreign language fluently. It is especially important to teach listening to students of non-linguistic universities, where the time devoted to learning a foreign language is little. That is why the task of a teacher of any non-linguistic university is to create effective listening exercises, and in this case, the development of technologies as well as listening techniques to meet the up-to-date needs of the learners is very important. In this article, the author introduces the reader to the techniques for creating and using exercises for developing listening skills among students of a non-linguistic university using the learning management system of Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment by means of «Quiz» activity.
