Abstract

Hotel housekeeping is associated with poor working conditions, including a prevalence of stress. In-depth interviews were conducted with hotel housekeepers to determine the impacts of their working conditions on stress and on their life before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic as well as to identify possible solutions. The results indicate that the interviewees all suffer from stress, the main sources of which are the workload and their treatment by their superiors. The pandemic has increased that stress by worsening their working conditions, deeply affecting their health and well-being, and exerting a considerable impact on their day- to-day life.
