Abstract
Question: A 53-year-old woman was admitted to our hepatology unit complaining of fever, chills, and right upper abdominal pain for 10 days. There was no jaundice, tea-colored urine, hematochezia, or change in bowel habits. She denied having any vices (smoking, alcohol, or illicit drug use) or any family history of hepatobiliary disease or cancer. Laboratory examination showed that white blood cell count was 14.71 × 109/L (reference range 3.69–9.16 × 109/L) with an elevated neutrophil percentage of 77.4%, γ-glutamyl transferase was 165 U/L (reference range 0–40 U/L), and CA-125 was 38 U/mL (reference range 0–35 U/mL).
