Abstract

1. 1. Liver angiomas rarely become symptomatic during the first month of life. Only eight cases have been reported up to this time. 2. 2. The youngest infant ever to undergo liver resection, twenty hours after delivery, is reported. Experiences with six other patients, during a thirteen year period, three of whom were less than one month old, are reviewed. 3. 3. Liver angioma in the neonate manifests itself as either an upper abdominal mass or unexplained shock with abdominal distention. After adequate work-up, immediate laparotomy is indicated.
