Abstract

This paper describes some live virtual machine (VM) migration schemes used in modern hypervisors and provides a comparative analysis of their potential capabilities based on the following criteria: eviction time, total migration time, downtime, total amount of data transmitted during migration, and decrease in performance of a migrating VM.
