Abstract
Switchgear is a complete set of electrical equipment in power system. Its safe and stable operation is the basis of ensuring reliable power supply in power system. Partial discharge (PD) has always been the main cause of deterioration of insulation in switchgear, which affects the safe and stable operation of switchgear. Combining with the disposal of a case in practice, this paper introduces the implementation of live partial discharge detection technology for high voltage switchgear, which shows its effectiveness in fault detection. The excessive discharge in switchgear can be judged by partial discharge spectrogram. UHF sensors are used to measure the discharge at different locations. The specific location of the discharge is found and the real discharge fault is found. It has been proved by practice that this method can improve the efficiency of maintenance.
