Abstract

We demonstrate a novel real-time measurement system for pose of anterior pelvic plane and implantation angles of prosthesis in total hip replacement (THR) surgeries. The system includes three parts: initial pose measurement instrument (IPMI), which is used to determine the initial pose of the anterior pelvic plane (APP), real-time pose measurement instrument (RPMI), which aims to acquire the real-time pose of the APP, and acetabular cup angle measurement instrument (AAMI). The experiment results show that the root mean square error of pose of APP is less than 1.6 degrees, and the implantation angles of acetabular cup is less than 3 degrees, which meets the requirement of THR surgeries.
