Abstract

In the face of advancing medical technology, there are choices to make about undertaking or terminating life-prolonging treatments. The legalization of physician-prescribed lethal medication for terminally ill patients in some states has fostered increased discussion about end-of-life issues. This article includes several stories from the author's pastoral experience along with suggestions and prayers to help patients and their loved ones address this significant life passage in the context of their faith.
