Abstract

Abstract The conduct of liturgy in the medieval Western Church was the prerogative of the clergy and religious. The manner in which they celebrated the liturgy depended on the community and church in which they served. Without attempting an outline or history of the organization of the Church, a summary examination of clerics and religious may help towards an understanding of liturgical practices.
