Abstract

The development of the early Christian architecture and liturgical installations, subject to changes in the course of time, can be followed in Salona, the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia in which Christianity and organized work of Christian communities started as early as in the 3rd century. Strong influences of the metropolis were reflected upon urban centers and rural settings. A significant number of the excavated church buildings was equipped with church furnishings typical of the Mediterranean basin.
