Abstract

Travel literature” or “Travel in literature”, a quasi-chiasm that emphasizes the undeniable unity of the concepts that forms it. Travel has always been a constant source of inspiration for writers; many of them have enjoyed traveling and their enjoyment is reflected in the stories they shared with their readers. However, travel is not just a motion in space. At the end of the journey, there are encounters, there are different individuals and peoples, sometimes confusing, and these encounters with otherness will challenge authors of all times, to date. It is this specific point that we propose to examine in this synthetic text, especially the relation to the Other in travel stories.
