Abstract

The lithium salt of croconic acid (4,5-dihydroxy-4-cyclopentene-1,2,3-trione), or lithium croconate, consists of planes containing almost parallel croconate units interconnected by water molecules and Li+ ions (2Li+.C5O52-.2H2O).
