Abstract

We prepared 0.125 and 0.5 mol% LiAlO2-coated graphite powders and 0.125, 0.25, and 0.5 mol% LiGaO2-coated graphite powders by the solvothermal method. The samples had uniformly dispersed fine particles on the graphite surface, except for the 0.5 mol% LiGaO2-coated graphite powder, in which the graphite surface was partially coated with aggregates several micrometers in size. All-solid-state lithium batteries with Li3PS4 glass as a solid electrolyte were assembled to investigate the effect of the coating on the charge-discharge performance. Batteries containing 0.125 mol% LiAlO2 and LiGaO2-coated graphite powder showed a higher initial coulombic efficiency and capacity retention rate than those containing uncoated graphite powder.
