Abstract
AbstractA lithium complex of an abnormal carbene with the composition [H3BC{{N(2,6‐iPr2C6H3)}2CHCLi(THF)3}] was synthesized by the lithiation reaction of the N‐heterocyclic carbene borane adduct {IPr·BH3, IPr = [C{[N(2,6‐iPr2C6H3)]CH}2] (1)} with nBuLi. The lithiated species was proven by NMR spectroscopy and unambiguously established by single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis.
