Abstract

The 2011 North Nagano earthquake of M=6.7 occurred in the next day following to the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku. This earthquake attacked snowy countries between Nagano and Niigata prefectures and caused many damage related to the snow. However, these disasters were not reported so much because most concerns are concentrated to the bigger Tohoku event at that time. In this paper, authors carried out literature surveys on damage related to snow. Local newspaper of Shinano-Mainichi was surveyed and related to snow articles were listed in time series and discussed.
