Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a long-term or chronic disease with an increasing prevalence, knowledge about the disease is lacking and people cannot manage the disease. One way to be able to prevent complications from diabetes apart from pharmacological therapy can be by providing education in the form of diabetes self management education. diabetes self management education can be done to increase knowledge and self efficacy in people with diabetes mellitus. From this literature review to identify, examine, and explain information about the effect of diabetes self management education on self efficacy in patients with diabetes mellitus. This literature review uses databases such as Google Scholar, EBSCO, DOAJ, Research Gate and Microsoft Academic with the keywords diabetes self management education, self efficacy, and published diabetes mellitus based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. From the 4 articles and 7 journals obtained, 8 of them showed the results that diabetes self management education was effective against self efficacy in patients with diabetes mellitus. Diabetes self management education can be used as an intervention in terms of education in patients with diabetes mellitus to increase knowledge and self efficacy.

Dari ke 4 artikel dan 7 jurnal yang didapat menggunakan pencarian dalam format prisma didapatkan hasil seperti berikut: serta dari 11 jurnal dan artikel yang didapat, 8 diantaranya menunjukan hasil bahwa diabetes self management education efektif terhadap self efficacy pada pasien diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus adalah salah satu dari sekian penyakit kronis sehingga perlu suatu perawatan medis secara terus menerus (American Diabetes Assosation, 2015). Sehingga perlu adanya penatalaksanaan diabetes mellitus secara menyeluruh dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan pengetahuan pasien terhadap penyakit DM (PERKENI, 2015). Diabetes self management education (DSME) merupakan salah satu penatalaksanaan pada pasien diabetes mellitus yang bermodalan edukasi, definisi dari DSME sendiri merupakan proses berlangsungnya suatu tindakan yang digunakan untuk memfasilitasi pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemampuan yang diperlukan untuk suatu perawatan mandiri prediabetes dan diabetes (American Diabetes Assosation, 2014). Penelitian dari Fitriah, (2019) menunjukkan bahwa melalui persepsi seseorang dengan media pendidikan terhadap seseorang dapat mendorong pembentukan kepercayaan diri seseorang, sehingga hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa ada pengaruh oleh diabetes self management education dengan maksut untuk meningkatkan kepercaraan diri (self efficacy) yang dapat mengendalikan atau mengelola suatu penyakit yang dideritanya(Haris & Megawati, n.d.)
