Abstract

There are several lens options for the practioner undertaking hydrogel lens correction of a presbyope. Therefore, this is a fast-changing area of clinical concern. This paper summarizes the research available on bifocal contact lenses. The articles are divided into introductory, theoretical, and clinical research. The information is then summarized to guide the practitioner in choosing the proper lens type for a particular patient. Additional areas of research are also suggested.
