Abstract
El presente trabajo analiza la evolución de la representación literaria del País Vasco, comparando la imagen que Pierre Loti construyó a finales del siglo XIX con la imagen del País Vasco que aparece en obras literarias del siglo XXI, en particular en las novelas de Jean Echenoz y Marie Darrieussecq. Se trata de ver cuál es el lugar y la función del País Vasco en el imaginario de escrito es franceses contemporáneos, un imaginario muy vinculado a la ciudad y a la realidad urbana, y confrontar ese imaginario con las principales herencias imaginarias del País Vasco.
