Abstract

LiSr2[CoN2] (tetrag., P42/mnm (Nr. 136); a = 524.4(1) pm, c = 730.7(2) pm; Z = 2) was prepared by reaction of mixtures of Li, Sr2N and Co (molar ratio 6:3:1) in tantalum crucibles under nitrogen (1 atm) at 850 °C. The crystal structure (α-Li3[BN2]-type) contains linear anions [Co1N2]5- (Co-N : 181.0(5) pm) which are isostructural to [Fe11N2]4- (Li4[FeN2]) as well as to the maingroup species CO2 and [BN2]3-.
