Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a measurement tool to measure the attitudes of high school students towards coaching profession. Validity and reliability studies were carried out with 366 students during the scale development process. The content validity of the scale is based on expert opinions, while the construct validity is provided by both explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of the validity studies, it was determined that the scale consists of 15 items in total with three factors and the factors explain 62,811% of the total variance. Reliability studies of the scale were determined by internal consistency coefficients calculated for all of the scale and its sub-factors. The Cronbach alpha (α) value of the scale was found to be 0,90. These calculated values indicate that the reliability of the scores obtained from the scale is high. As a result of the analysis made, 3 factorial structure was verified. As a result of the findings, it is determined that the scale is a measurement tool that measures students' attitudes toward the coaching profession in a valid and reliable way
