Abstract

This paper summarizes a systematic investigation of the phase equilibria in the quaternary BiO 1.5SrOCaOCuO system (BSCCO). The study combines our completed work on subset binaries and ternaries and experiments in the quaternary system, focusing on the small volume of the quaternary where the primary phase volumes of ternary and quaternary BSCCO phases exist. Known phase relations and conducted experiments within the BSCCO quaternary support the findings of this paper.
