Abstract

1. The oxidation of wax to aliphatic acids by atmospheric oxygen at a constant temperature of 110°C and decreasing temperature conditions 110–105°C and 120–105°C has been studied. 2. It has been shown that the oxidation period at 110°C or 110–105°C is 3.5 h less than oxidation at 120-105°C. For the wax oxidation at a reduced temperature the quality of the acids is improved, the consumption of manganese dioxide is reduced by 30% and that of Mn-Na salts of fatty acids by 20%.
