Abstract

The liquid−liquid equilibrium for the ternary systems PEG 400 + Cs2CO3 + H2O, PEG 1000 + Cs2CO3 + H2O, and PEG 4000 + Cs2CO3 + H2O at 298.15 K have been obtained experimentally. Measurement of the PEG 4000 + Cs2CO3 + H2O system was also made at 308.15 K and 318.15 K. The binodal curves were correlated using a four-parameter equation. Tie lines were satisfactorily described using the Othmer−Tobias and Bancroft equations.
