Abstract

To separate and purify epichlorohydrin from water, the liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of water + epichlorohydrin + solvents (n-propyl acetate, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol) at 303.2, 313.2, and 323.2 K were measured at 101.3 kPa. The extraction ability of an extractant was evaluated using the distribution coefficient (D) and selectivity factor (S). Simultaneously, the Bachmann and Hand equations were used to verify the accuracy of the liquid–liquid equilibrium data. The NRTL and UNIQUAC models successfully correlated the LLE data, and the root mean square deviation for each model was less than 0.50%. Finally, GUI-MATLAB tools were employed to confirm that the regression parameters of the thermodynamic model areconsistent.
