Abstract

A case of non glucocorticoid induced symptomatic epidural lipomatosis is reported in a 61-year old man who presented with symptoms of cauda equina syndrome. CT and MRI were diagnostic and revealed compression of the thecal sac from L3 to S1 with an epidural mass which was typical of adipose tissue. Weight loss resulted in improvement of symptoms, and lumbar MRI and CT reverted to normal.
