Abstract

Arborescent lipoma is a rare benign intra-articular tumor characterized by the proliferation of mature adipocytes with a villous appearance replacing synovial tissue. We report a new case of arborescent lipoma confirmed histologically. It was a female patient of 40 years old and had no previous pathological history. She consulted us for a large painful right knee that had been evolving for two years, without any notion of traumatic event. MRI of the right knee showed a hypertrophy of the synovial villi with a fatty signal, creating a fern-leaf appearance, with intense enhancement of these villi testifying to its inflammatory character.
