Abstract

1. 1. The long-chain fatty acid compostion of the host's diet was closely reflected by the fatty acid composition of thw worm. 2. 2. Synthesis of complex lipids from simple lipids occured in vitro and vivo. 3. 3. During starvation of the host thr worm's glycogen content decreased rapidly, although little protein or lipid materials was mobilized. 4. 4. No evidence was found for the presence of non-specific esterase or lipase. 5. 5. Destrobilization occured upon prolonged starvation of th erat host.
