Abstract
Linseed oil has interesting properties, including health benefits, which motivated us to evaluate films incorporating this oil. Cold and hot extraction were performed to obtain the oil from linseed. The cold-pressed oil was incorporated into the starch/glycerol films. Mechanical testing and XRD analysis were discussed here in this article. We observed that the starch/glycerol and starch/glycerol/oil films presented, according to XRD results, differences in the level of crystallinity. It was observed that glycerol breaks the crystallinity present in the original corn starch (bought in the market). The films were also compared with each other with regard to the visual aspect.
