Abstract

Native Americans experience significant health problems. Teaching them how to access health information on the Internet has the potential to give them knowledge to maintain more healthy lifestyles, provide them with reliable information about their problems, and make them aware of possible treatment options. The staff at the Harley E. French Library of the Health Sciences, University of North Dakota partnered with five North Dakota tribal college librarians for an “Access to Electronic Health Information for the Public” NN/LM subcontract. It was designed to use North Dakota tribal college libraries as a means for making Internet health information accessible to North Dakota Native Americans.
