Abstract

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) was used to analyze rinsed and not rinsed LiNi0.8Co0.2O2-based high power lithium-ion battery cathodes following calendar-life testing at 50 °C, 60% state-of-charge. XP spectra were obtained using incident monochromatic AlKα radiation at 0.83401 nm. A survey spectrum together with F 1s, O 1s, C 1s, P 2p and Li 1s are presented. The spectra indicate the principal core level photoelectron and Auger electron signals.
