Abstract

Abstract To characterize the quality of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7− Δ samples by the linewidth Δν of the Cu NQR (nuclear quadrupole resonance) signals we have measured at room temperature Δν as a function of Δ for values ranging from 0.018 to 0.071. The data are compared with a computer simulation based on a random distribution of vacancies over chain oxygen sites.
