Abstract
Optical Bloch equations for a three-level system driven by a strong infrared pump pulse of duration t p and a weak cw infrared signal are solved to obtain the time-dependent signal absorption lineshape for 0< t< t p and t> t p. Time evolutions of the signal at different delay times are computed. The results conform to the available experimental spectra.
