Abstract
A freight village groups together inter-modal transportation and services for products, firms, and personnel. It is a logistics hub that provides a true opportunity for global firms. Services go beyond just inter-modal transportation. This research analyzes an ideal freight village; then it is focused on internationally successful freight villages in northern Europe. The research has three scenarios, combining existing structures in the South Europe plus creating improved systems. Each of those scenarios is based on south European infrastructure systems. It determines the optimal means of capturing lucrative trade opportunities in the Med. It also helps in making the existing structures more international.
