Abstract

The smart antenna has considered the most popular technologies in the modern communication system. Antenna array beamforming offers narrow beamwidth, low side-lobes, and high directivity. Termination of false signals and low sidelobe levels is a must for smart antennas. To eradicate this problem, the Linearly-arranged Concentric Circular Antenna Array beamformer is proposed in this paper. It is observed that using robust techniques, the proposed structure provides superior performance as compared to a conventional technique by reducing sidelobe level, beamwidth, and the low possibility to receive false signals. By using different robust techniques such as Fixed Diagonal Loading, Optimal Diagonal Loading, Variable Diagonal Loading, the normalized output power of the proposed structure is increased to −61.044 dB, −2.1 dB and −1.410 dB respectively.
